IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD
TEXT: MATT 19: 16 – 26, 1 SAM 18: 12 – 30 (NIV)
Welcome to another Sunday service as we celebrate, worship and praise “The God of all possibilities” throughout this month and trusting him to turn our “impossibilities” to testimony in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Over the past two weeks the Lord has opened our eyes and ears to two vital points regarding this: (a) You can hinder God to perform the impossible as our provincial pastor laid out the first Sunday of this month. (b) For God, nothing is impossible as we saw last week from our senior pastor.
As you look at the life of Moses, Ex 2:11-15, 3:11-12, or Joshua in Josh 1:5-9, 24:15 just to mention a few of the notable bible character we are familiar with you notice a very distinct fact that their success was a direct result of a partnership with God. Moses had tried in his own power and failed spectacularly. God invites us into a partnership (Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG), indeed he created us to find fulfilment in a life of partnership with him.
BUILDING A CLOSE PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD
While we need to work hard towards whatever that objective is, the TRUE path to success lies in a partnership with God. Jn 15:5, Acts 17:28. As we saw when we went through the study on Daniel, no one stumbles into a partnership walk with God we must be deliberate.
- Faith and Believing: It is possible to imagine that these two words are the same, read again what Jesus said to Martha Jn 11:38-40. She was not without faith, but her belief was that the resurrection was only possible on the return of Jesus as messiah. Not now! God answers every prayer that is prayed, what is result are you believing for NOW? Jer 33:3 God says, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." –
- Know or search out the promises: The bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… Hosea 4:6”, not for lack of power but a failure to know what they do not know and a hunger to search for it.
- Act or plan on the promises: Heb 11:31-33 It is one thing to have God’s promise, it is another to act or plan on that promise. This is tied often to our faith or lack thereof. If we must truly reap the reward of the partnership, we must be ready to act upon it.
- PRAY daily: No true partnership is possible without regular communication. We must communicate with Him daily even hourly so our relationship with Him becomes closer and closer till we have the minds of the Lord instead of our own.
I pray the Lord will draw you closer unto himself and turn all your impossibility to testimony. Have testimony-filled week ahead.
