FOREWORD FOR THE WEEK: 25 APRIL 2021

RECAP – ENGAGING THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE GOD OF ALL POSSIBILITIES – CONNECTING WITH HIM

In creation God did not need the consent of darkness in order to create light, neither did He consider the formlessness and voidness to create form and shape Gen. 1:1-3

God did not need committee of construction engineers to make a path in the sea for the children of Israel Exos. 14:13-16 Our God did not need the freshness or agility of Sarah’s womb to bring about the pregnancy and delivery of a baby at old age. The Lord Jesus did not need the consortium of Biochemist, Nutritionists and possibly wine makers to turn water to wine.

And because He is a God of all possibilities, we need to know how He can make our impossibilities possibilities. From Isa. 55:8-9 we can deduce the following:

  1. God has a method of thinking
  2. God has a way of doing things

And because God has method of thinking and ways of doing things, we therefore need someone or somethings to help align our thoughts pattern and our ways of doing things to that of the God of all possibilities:

  1. The Holy Spirit – 1Cor. 2:9-11 We must fellowship with him by praying in the Holy Ghost because he is the one that can superimpose the thoughts of the Father upon our thoughts.
  2. The word of God Acts 20:32 God’s word has the ability to open a believer’s eyes to see what God has made possible for him particularly when read through the Holy Spirit.
  3. Prayers Matt. 26:38-42 In the place of prayer we pick up new thoughts and ways which will change our prayer points concerning that desired possibilities.

Other things to consider:

  1. Avoid over intellectualism – 2Kings 5:9-13 Let us calm down as God is bigger than our intellect.
  2. Avoid offence – when it comes handle it with wisdom – Acts 13:1-3, 15:36-40
  3. Don’t be engrossed with your impossibilities, you can be the possibilities for others Gen. 18:1-14, 2Kings 4:8-17
  4. You are God’s possibilities – Eze. 22:30, 1Sam. 1:11

The Holy Spirit will help us to think and act like God.

Shalom!
